Herff Jones
Happy Monday, everyone!
I’ve heard some concerns about Herff Jones today, so I thought I’d post some useful information here.
First of all, if you (or your student) didn’t bring in your Herff Jones order materials today, fear not! You may submit your order online (http://www.gradservehj.com) or by mail (Graduate Services, Inc., P.O. Box 227, Belleville, MI 48112). If you have more specific questions, you might want to contact our sales representative, Mike Littlefield (e-mail: gradservhj@aol.com, phone: (734) 699-4757).
The school IS paying for 25 graduation announcements, but you still have to put them on the order form (Herff Jones will make sure that the school, not you, pays for those 25). The school is providing announcements only, not name cards or tissue paper. Those items may be added at your discretion.
Fundraiser!
The Senior class is having a fundraiser! We’re selling Savory Foods Fresh Homestyle Ready-to-Bake Cookie Dough and Gourmet Popcorn.
Cookie dough is available in ten mouth-watering flavors: Chocolate Chunk, Peanut Butter, White Chocolate Macadamia, Oatmeal Raisin, Fudge Chocolate, M&M Candy, Sugar, Chocolate Chunk Pecan, Coconut Krispy, and Snickerdoodle. Each tub is $10 and makes about four dozen (!) cookies.
Gourmet popcorn is available in three savory flavors: Buttery Caramel, Chicago-Style, and Chocolate Delight (which is a delight – I speak from experience!). These buckets are $8 a piece. Caramel and Chicago-Style come in a one-gallon bucket; Chocolate Delight comes in a half-gallon container.
Additionally, Lava-licious Fudge Cakes are available for $10. My mouth just waters thinking about these.
Money and order forms MUST be turned in by Tuesday, November 27, 2007. (Take them to Thanksgiving and have your family buy stuff!) The delivery date is Tuesday, December 11, 2007. Orders MUST be picked up between 3:10 pm and 3:30 pm on that day. We CANNOT store unclaimed orders. How will poor Aunt Millie feel if you don’t pick up her Fudge Chocolate cookies and her Lava-licious Fudge Cakes? Don’t do that to her!
Any questions, see Ms Smith or Mr. Mitchell.
Senior Dues
As you learned at our first Senior Meeting, Senior Dues are $100 and must be paid by January 17th, 2008. Some of you might wonder what specifically these dues cover. So, here’s a handy-dandy little list for you!
Senior Breakfast
yearbook
cap
gown
tassle
cord
Senior T-Shirt
Additoinally, you will be keeping your cap, gown, tassle, and cord this year (in years past, caps and gowns have only been rentals).
Letters
I honestly think I’m trying to break some sort of record for most posts in one day…
Here are the two letters that were handed out at the meeting on Monday, in case you weren’t there or lost yours: general information letter and a letter about senior pictures and ads for the yearbook.
Committees
At the class meeting on Monday, a number of you signed up to be on committees. I figured I’d post the list here so you’d know who you’re working with.

Senior Ads
The 2007-2008 yearbook staff is offering the chance for parents and other family members and friends to purchase an ad to wish graduates good luck, to express love, or simply to show off how adorable the student was as a baby! This ad may contain pictures and will appear in the 2007-2008 yearbook. Sizes and prices for these ads vary, and we hope that these choices will accommodate everyone. We ask that these ads be placed in full (words, pictures, payment) no later than January 17th—though we would appreciate them as soon as possible. These ads can be turned in either in the main office or directly to Ms Smith.
Order forms are available from Ms Smith, a yearbook staff member, or right here: Yearbook Senior Ad Order Form.
Senior Pictures!
Hey, guys. I know you’re all excited about senior year and that if you haven’t had your pretty-pretty senior pictures taken, you soon will. I also know that you want those pretty-pretty pictures in the yearbook instead of the standard school photo. Okay, well, here are the guidelines: Pictures must be 2 ½ by 3 ½ inches in size (roughly the size of a wallet-sized “senior picture”) and may be submitted to the office, to myself directly (Ms Smith, room 212—students may drop them off to me), or online at http://images.jostens.com (user ID: 1160659; password: aaw2008). Dress and content of these pictures must adhere to guidelines in the student code of conduct. These pictures may be submitted until January 17th, but would be appreciated as soon as possible. Thanks!
